Welcome!
The DEEP is the student ministry that happens on Monday and Tuesday nights at The Worship Center in Berlin, Maryland. We believe wholeheartedly that Jesus is real and alive. We believe that he has a plan for students’ lives on the Eastern Shore. John 10:10 says that (Jesus) came to give life, and life to the full. If you haven’t been to the DEEP to hang out, you need to change that. Below are some commonly asked questions and the answers to them:
Q: Where is the DEEP located?
A: The DEEP is located at The Worship Center on Route 50.
The address is 10736 Ocean Gtwy / Berlin, Maryland 21811

Q: How old do you have to be to come to the DEEP and when does it happen?
A: The DEEP exists to serve students in middle school (7th & 8th grade) and high school (9th-12th grade). Each group has their own night. Middle school students meet at the church on Mondays. High school students meet at the church on Tuesdays. Both evenings begin at 6:30pm and last until 8:00pm. The doors on both nights open up at 6:00pm.

Q: Why should I come to the DEEP?
A: Everybody attends the DEEP for a different reason. Some students come because their friends come. Others come because they are looking for something to do. Some students come because they go to The Worship Center on Sundays with their parents. Some students who come are already Christians; others aren’t sure what they believe yet. No matter what background you come from, you are welcome here. We want you to know God’s love and experience his realness.

Q: What should I expect when I come to the DEEP?
A: Most nights our time together is like a church service, only for teenagers. We have a time to hang out, listen to music, and socialize. We play a couple games, give away some prizes, and watch some videos. Some videos are funny, others are more serious. We have a time with music which we call “worship”. Worship isn’t a time for students to watch, but participate. During worship some students sing, others just listen, some even raise their hands out of their love for God. After worship, Pastor Mike or a guest speaker will speak for a couple a minutes on a particular subject. The messages that are spoken are never condemning, so no need to be afraid of being put down or looked at funny if you’re not sure about what you believe. Every student is challenged to experience God in a new way. After the DEEP is over students are dismissed. Some stay to hang out and others leave to go home.

Q: I’m not sure what I believe in yet. Does that mean I can’t come?
A: Absolutely not! We have students who believe many different things and hold many different worldviews. Our goal isn’t to “convert” you; it’s deeper than that. Our goal is to present to you God’s real, tangible, and personal love and ask you to make a decision. We believe that if you choose to follow Jesus and engage in a relationship with Him your life will never be the same. We will never do anything intentionally to make you feel uncomfortable; all we are asking is that you approach your time at the DEEP with an open heart.

Q: If you could sum up what the DEEP is about in one sentence, what would it be?
A: Thanks for asking! Take a look at our purpose statement below:
